Nomenclatural History

The species Deleya venusta was originally described and validly published by Baumann et al. 1983. Baumann et al. formed this name in 1983 by placing the species
Alcaligenes venustus Baumann et al. 1972 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Halomonas Vreeland et al. 1980 emend. Dobson and Franzmann 1996. In 1996, Dobson and Franzmann established Deleya venusta as the basonym of
Halomonas venusta (Baumann et al. 1972) Dobson and Franzmann 1996
