The family Pseudomonadaceae was originally proposed by Winslow et al. 1917. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Young and Park transferred the members of
Azotobacteraceae Pribram 1933 (Approved Lists 1980)
into this family in 2007.
