The subspecies Pseudomonas avenae avenae was originally described by Manns 1909. This name was validly published by Hu et al. 1991. In 1991, Hu et al. reduced
Pseudomonas avenae Manns 1909 (Approved Lists 1980)
to the rank of subspecies. In 1992, Willems et al. established Pseudomonas avenae avenae as the basonym of
Acidovorax avenae avenae (Manns 1909) Willems et al. 1992
.
