Nomenclatural History
|
The species Pseudomonas cepacia was originally described by Burkholder 1950. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1981 the name was revived and validly published by Palleroni and Holmes. In 1992, Yabuuchi et al. established Pseudomonas cepacia as the basonym of
Burkholderia cepacia (Palleroni and Holmes 1981) Yabuuchi et al. 1993
