Nomenclatural History
|
The species Pseudomonas maltophilia was originally described by Hugh and Ryschenkow 1961. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1981 the name was revived and validly published by Hugh. In 1983, Swings et al. established Pseudomonas maltophilia as the basonym of
Xanthomonas maltophilia (Hugh 1981) Swings et al. 1983
