Nomenclatural History
The species Pseudomonas orientalis was originally described by Dabboussi et al. 1999. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 87 in 2002. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008.

This name had been rendered NVP by Judicial Opinion 81 (type strain only had a single deposit). This issue has since been corrected, and this name should be considered Validly Published.
