The species Pseudomonas putida was originally described by Migula 1895. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Chun et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Arthrobacter siderocapsulatus Dubinina and Zhdanov 1975 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 2001.
