The species Pseudomonas radiora was originally described by Ito and Iizuka 1971. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1983, Green and Bousfield established Pseudomonas radiora as the basonym of
Methylobacterium radiotolerans Green and Bousfield 1983 emend. Hördt et al. 2020
