The species Pseudomonas rubrilineans was originally described by Stapp 1928. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hu et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Pseudomonas avenae Manns 1909 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 1991.
