The species Pseudomonas savastanoi was originally described and validly published by Gardan et al. 1992. Gardan et al. elevated the subspecies
Pseudomonas syringae savastanoi (ex Smith 1908) Janse 1982
to the rank of species to form this name in 1992. Gardan et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Pseudomonas amygdali Psallidas and Panagopoulos 1975 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 1999. Gardan et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Pseudomonas ficuserectae Goto 1983
in 1999. Gardan et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Pseudomonas meliae Ogimi 1981
in 1999.
