Nomenclatural History
|
The subspecies Pseudomonas syringae savastanoi was originally described by Smith 1908. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1982 the name was revived and validly published by Janse. Gardan et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name
Pseudomonas savastanoi (Janse 1982) Gardan et al. 1992
in 1992.
