The species Pseudomonas testosteroni was originally described by Marcus and Talalay 1956. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1987, Tamaoka et al. established as the basonym of (Marcus and Talalay 1956) Tamaoka et al. 1987 emend. Willems et al. 1991 .
