Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Azotobacter was originally proposed by Beijerinck 1901. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Johnstone published an emended description of this genus in 1974. Young and Park established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Pseudomonas Migula 1894 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Yang et al. 2013
in 2007.
