Nomenclatural History
|
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 20 in 1986. The genus Cellvibrio was originally proposed by Winogradsky 1929. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1985 the name was revived by Blackall et al.. Humphry et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2003. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Suarez et al. in 2014.
