Nomenclatural History

The species Moraxella cuniculi was originally described by Bøvre and Hagen 1981. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 15 in 1984. Bøvre and Hagen formed this name in 1981 by placing the species
Neisseria cuniculi Berger 1962 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Moraxella Lwoff 1939 emend. Lautrop 1974 (Approved Lists 1980).
