into the genus Moraxella Lwoff 1939 emend. Lautrop 1974 (Approved Lists 1980). In 1979, Bøvre established Moraxella ovis as the basonym of
Moraxella (Branhamella) ovis (Lindqvist 1960) Bøvre 1979
