Nomenclatural History
The species Alteromonas macleodii was originally described by Baumann et al. 1972. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Yi et al. published an emended description of this species in 2004. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Vandecandelaere et al. in 2008.
