Nomenclatural History
The species Marinobacterium jannaschii was originally described and validly published by Satomi et al. 2002. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. Satomi et al. formed this name in 2002 by placing the species Bowditch et al. 1984 into the genus González et al. 1997.
