Nomenclatural History
The species Pseudoalteromonas distincta was originally described and validly published by Ivanova et al. 2000. Nedashkovkaya et al. published an emended description of this species in 2021. Ivanova et al. formed this name in 2000 by placing the species Romanenko et al. 1995 into the genus Gauthier et al. 1995 emend. Beurmann et al. 2017. Nedashkovkaya et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Ivanova et al. 2002 in 2021.
