Nomenclatural History

The species Pseudoalteromonas nigrifaciens was originally described and validly published by Gauthier et al. 1995. Ivanovna et al. published an emended description of this species in 1996. Gauthier et al. formed this name in 1995 by placing the species
Alteromonas nigrifaciens (ex White 1940) Baumann et al. 1984 emend. Ivanovna et al. 1996
into the genus Pseudoalteromonas Gauthier et al. 1995 emend. Beurmann et al. 2017.
