Nomenclatural History	The species Vibrio campbellii was originally described by Baumann et al. 1980. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 6 in 1981. Baumann et al. formed this name in 1980 by placing the species Beneckea campbellii Baumann et al. 1971 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Vibrio Pacini 1854 emend. Shewan and Veron 1974 (Approved Lists 1980).
