The species Vibrio fluvialis was originally described by Lee et al. 1981. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 6 in 1981. Farmer established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Allomonas enterica Kalina et al. 1984
in 1989.
