Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Halococcus was originally proposed by Schoop 1935. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Gibbons published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Oren et al. in 2009.
