Nomenclatural History
The genus Listonella was originally proposed by MacDonell and Colwell 1985. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 20 in 1986. Thompson et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Pacini 1854 emend. Shewan and Veron 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2011.
