The subspecies Salinivibrio costicola vallismortis was originally described and validly published by Huang et al. 2000. López-Hermoso et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Salinivibrio proteolyticus Ali Amoozegar et al. 2008 emend. López-Hermoso et al. 2018
in 2018.
