Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Aeromonas hydrophila anaerogenes was originally described by Schubert 1964. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Miñana-Galbis et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (ex Eddy 1962) Popoff 1984 pro synon. Aeromonas punctata (Zimmermann 1890) Snieszko 1957 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2013.
