The species Aeromonas allosaccharophila was originally described by Martinez-Murcia et al. 1992. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 42 in 1992. Huys et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Hickman-Brenner et al. 1988 in 2005.
