Nomenclatural History
The genus Brenneria was originally proposed by Hauben et al. 1998. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 68 in 1999. Brady et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2012. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Brady et al. in 2014.
