Nomenclatural History
The genus Calymmatobacterium was originally proposed by Aragão and Vianna 1913. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Dienst published an emended description of this genus in 1974. Carter et al. transferred the members of this genus into Trevisan 1885 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Ma et al. 2021 in 1999.
