Nomenclatural History
The species Enterobacter hormaechei was originally described by O'Hara et al. 1989. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 32 in 1990. Hoffmann et al. published an emended description of this species in 2005. In 2005, Hoffmann et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (O'Hara et al. 1990) Hoffmann et al. 2016 .
