Nomenclatural History

The genus Erwinia was originally proposed by Winslow et al. 1920. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Lelliott published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Hauben et al. in 1998.
