Nomenclatural History
The species Pantoea agglomerans was originally described and validly published by Gavini et al. 1989. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 90 in 2014. Beji et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Löhnis 1911) Dye 1964 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1988. Beji et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Kawakami and Yoshida 1920) Magrou 1937 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1988. Gavini et al. formed this name in 1989 by placing the species (Beijerinck 1888) Ewing and Fife 1972 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Gavini et al. 1989 emend. Brady et al. 2010. Judicial Commission of the International Committee on Systematics of Prokaryotes established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Abdou 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2014.
