The subspecies Salmonella choleraesuis indica was originally described by Le Minor et al. 1986. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 23 in 1987. In 2005, Tindall et al. established as the basonym of (Le Minor et al. 1987) Le Minor and Popoff 1987 .
