Nomenclatural History
|
The species Salmonella paratyphi was originally described by Kayser 1902. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 2000 the name was revived and validly published by Ezaki et al.. Tindall et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Salmonella enterica enterica (Kauffmann and Edwards 1952) Le Minor and Popoff 1987
in 2005.
