Nomenclatural History	The species Serratia fonticola was originally described by Gavini et al. 1979. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Kämpfer and Glaeser published an emended description of this species in 2015. Kämpfer and Glaeser established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Serratia glossinae Geiger et al. 2010 in 2015.
