Nomenclatural History
The species Desulfurococcus amylolyticus was originally described by Bonch-Osmolovskaya et al. 1988. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 82 in 2001. Perevalova et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. Perevalova et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Perevalova et al. 2005 in 2016. Perevalova et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Kublanov et al. 2009 in 2016.
