The species Natronomonas pharaonis was originally described and validly published by Kamekura et al. 1997. Kamekura et al. formed this name in 1997 by placing the species (Soliman and Trüper 1983) Tindall et al. 1984 into the genus Kamekura et al. 1997 emend. Kim et al. 2013.
