Nomenclatural History
The species Desulfosarcina cetonium was originally described by Kuever et al. 2005. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 107 in 2006. Kuever et al. formed this name in 2005 by placing the species Galushko and Rozanova 1994 into the genus Widdel 1981 emend. Watanabe et al. 2017.
