Nomenclatural History	The species Desulfarculus baarsii was originally described by Kuever et al. 2005. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 107 in 2006. Kuever et al. formed this name in 2005 by placing the species Desulfovibrio baarsii Widdel 1981 into the genus Desulfarculus Kuever et al. 2006.
