Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Geobacter was originally proposed by Lovley et al. 1993. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 54 in 1995. Waite et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2020. Nevin et al. transferred the members of
Trichlorobacter De Wever et al. 2001 emend. Waite et al. 2020
into this genus in 2007.
