Nomenclatural History	The species Corallococcus coralloides was originally described by Reichenbach 2005. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 115 in 2007. Reichenbach formed this name in 2005 by placing the species Myxococcus coralloides Thaxter 1892 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Corallococcus Reichenbach 2007 emend. Lang and Stackebrandt 2009.
