Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 31 in 1989. The species Polyangium parasiticum was originally described by Geitler 1924. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1989 the name was revived by Brockman.
