Nomenclatural History
|
The species Haploangium rugiseptum was originally described by McCurdy 1970. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 2005 the name was revived by Reichenbach. Reichenbach formed this name in 2005 by placing the species
Polyangium rugiseptum (Peterson 1959) McCurdy 1970 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Polyangium (Reichenbach 2005) Link 1809 (Approved Lists 1980).
