Nomenclatural History
The species Campylobacter lari was originally described by Benjamin et al. 1983. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 14 in 1984. Von Gravenitz corrected this name from (sic) to . Debruyne et al. published an emended description of this species in 2009. In 2009, Debruyne et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Benjamin et al. 1984) Debruyne et al. 2009 .
