Nomenclatural History
|
The subspecies Campylobacter sputorum mucosalis was originally described by Lawson and Rowland 1974. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1981 the name was revived and validly published by Lawson et al.. Roop et al. elevated this subspecies to the rank of species to form the name
Campylobacter mucosalis (Lawson et al. 1981) Roop et al. 1985
in 1985.
