Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Sulfurospirillum was originally proposed by Schumacher et al. 1992. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 44 in 1993. Finster et al. published an emended description of this genus in 1997. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Luijten et al. in 2003. Luijten et al. transferred the members of
Dehalospirillum Scholz-Muramatsu et al. 2002
into this genus in 2003.
