Nomenclatural History

The species Clostridium absonum was originally described by Nakamura et al. 1973. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Wang et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Clostridium sardiniense corrig. Prévot 1938 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Wang et al. 2005
in 2005.
