The species Clostridium fervidum was originally described and validly published by Patel et al. 1987. Euzéby corrected this name from Clostridium fervidus (sic) to Clostridium fervidum . In 1994, Collins et al. established Clostridium fervidum as the basonym of
Caloramator fervidus (Patel et al. 1987) Collins et al. 1994 emend. Ogg and Patel 2011
.
