Nomenclatural History
The species Clostridium glycolicum was originally described by Gaston and Stadtman 1963. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Chamkha et al. published an emended description of this species in 2001. In 2013, Yutin and Galperin established as the basonym of (Gaston and Stadtman 1963) Yutin and Galperin 2013 . In 2014, Gerritsen et al. established as the basonym of (Gaston and Stadtman 1963) Gerritsen et al. 2014 .
