Nomenclatural History

The species Clostridium halophilum was originally described by Fendrich et al. 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 39 in 1991. Upon validation, this name was corrected from Clostridium halophilium (sic) to Clostridium halophilum . In 2016, Li et al. established Clostridium halophilum as the basonym of
Maledivibacter halophilus (Fendrich et al. 1991) Li et al. 2016
